Booker the Italian Greyhound ( (By Eldad Hagar)

Booker had a really hard 10 years of life….his owner allowed all of his teeth to ROT out of his mouth. Reading through his original vet records, Booker’s previous owner allowed Booker to succumb to tooth loss by having infections and head swelling until every tooth fell out. Probably about 6 years of never ending pain. Booker was a dog left to rot and a broken jaw and broken legs were left to heal on their own. He was then dumped in a shelter WITH his brother after being a pet for 10 years.

He was rescued by “One Starfish re-homing” a day before he was scheduled to be euthanized —–by gas.

Last weekend I had the privilege to go to New Jersey and meet him in person… what an amazing little dog and what an amazing family adopted him… he must be one of the luckiest dogs in the world.

In the last 20 years, many greyhound dog tracks have shut down and to me it's good riddence. They were some of the worst abusers of this otherwise gentle breed. The one in Phoenix operated from 1954 until 2012 and yet there were countless instances documented on animal abuse over the years.

That is an iggy for you. They are a fragile yet brilliantly happy breed. I am so happy he found a good home. I am a sucker for older iggies.

Sorry but, I HATE this music! Makes me crazy! I know "Flight of the Bumblebee" but it's just raucous and makes the dog seem like a hyper nut! Hahaha! I suppose she/he IS, right? Yikes, too hyper for me…?

I love his big eyes he's so cute ??? I love dogs so much
When I get older I want to save dogs and other animals like you and I want to be a good vet ??? DOGS
